One Year Wild
Bear Hunts you may think to yourself. (Just to clarify we didn’t actually see any bears or harm any bears during this time.) Although the 5 second commute downstairs can be a little challenging at times dodging all those toys this is what Freelance is all about flexible working hours to suit me and more bear hunts with my daughter. It is hard work (sorry to all those thinking it’s easy) but very rewarding.
I am over two months into my Freelance Journey, I have found what it is all about – BEAR HUNTS.
Rolling back one year, I was working Full Time and Freelancing in the evenings – I was thinking when is the right time to take the plunge into Full Time Freelance. I got plenty of advice from people who were already living the dream. Not one person said they would go back into Full Time work and everyone said it was indeed hard work. Having the dream and the drive is key to making the career you want a reality (plus plenty of Coffee and Haribo help).
LEARNING AND KERNING – BEING TESTED CREATIVELY AND KEEP YOUR LEARN ON, IS THE ONLY WAY TO PROGRESS YOUR SKILL SET
Spending time on things you are passionate about is very important. Freelance has give me the flexibility with my work that I craved, meaning more time for learning and exploration of ideas I have bubbling around.
“TIME IS A VALUABLE THING. WATCH IT FLY BY AS THE PENDULUM SWINGS” to quote Linkin Park (R.I.P Chester Bennington.)
Having more time and energy for the people that matter in your life. This means more bear hunts with my daughter, everyones a winner.
FREEDOM – not having a 9-5 routine within my life was odd to begin with, but I am the master of my own destiny. Being Freelance in a lot of aspects is still daunting, but now I am totally in charge of my time and projects
QUIT PLAYING IT SAFE…AND DISTURB IT. CHANGE THE STAUS QUO OR BECOME IT
If you have ever thought long and hard about Full Time Freelance, JUST DO IT (sorry Nike please don’t file a lawsuit.) You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
LET YOUR ADVENTURES BEGIN
